Merced Flores

Merced "El Gordito" Flores, 56, entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his residence in Edinburg. He was born on Wednesday, January 17, 1962 in Edinburg, Texas to Felipe Flores and Escolastica Flores. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3- brothers and 1 - sister.
Merced is survived by his wife of 26 years; Diana Dimas Flores, daughter; Jennifer M. (Ray Pena) Dimas, grandson; Johnny Jeremiah Delgado, brothers; Ismael Flores, Israel Flores, Rodolfo Flores, and Jesus Flores, sisters; Maribel San Juan, Juana Vela, and Ofelia Guerra, numerous nieces and nephews.
Merced lived in Edinburg all of his life and was a graduate of Edinburg High School. He owned and operated "El Gordito Fruit Stand" in Edinburg for many years. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
His family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM by Deacon Raul Rangel at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
