Maria Gonzalez

Maria Gonzalez, 74, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She was born on Tuesday, August 14, 1945 in Edinburg, TX to Apolonio Martinez and Teofila Maldonado. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Jose Miguel, Reynaldo, Daniel, Ricardo, Gilberto, Reyes and Twin Jose Martinez. Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 50, years Daniel Gonzalez, Sr., daughters; Marissa Ann (Michael) Cole, Betty (Jose Luis Rodriguez) Gonzalez and Corina Gonzalez, son; Daniel (Mary Rocha) Gonzalez, Jr., sister; Evangelina (Juan Rene) Trevino,
7 – Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maria enjoyed dancing, sewing, gardening and listening to her roosters. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and worked at Citrus Association for over 30 years. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched. Her family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 10:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery 1701 E. Richardson Road Edinburg, TX. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Michael Cole, Joe Rodriguez, Anthony Champion, J.D. Garcia, Paul Torres and Rene Torres. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
