Francisca G. Gomez

On Monday, February 18, 2019, Francisca G. Gomez was called to Heaven to serve at the Lord's side at the age of 105 years. She was born on Wednesday, September 17, 1913 in Rio Grande City, Texas to Cresencio Garcia and Daria Saenz Garcia. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Ramiro Gomez, sons-in-law; Eradio Uresti and Cesar "Cito" Luna, sisters; Pilar Rodriguez, Daria Arrendondo, Antonia Saenz, Victoria Trevino and Dominga Rios.
Francisca is survived by her loving children; Minerva Gomez, Margarita Uresti, Frances Luna and Adan Gomez, grandchildren; Edward (Jenny) Uresti, Sophie (Mario) Smith, Rebecca Uresti, C. Jaime Luna, Mike (Zara) Luna, Balde (Veronica) Gomez, Albert Gomez, Cassandra (Roy) Garza, Johnny (Luis) Gomez, and Sabrina and Veronica Munguia, 24 - great grandchildren and brother; Rodrigo Garcia.
She lived out her life in the Rio Grande Valley and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg where is was also a Guadalupana, Altar Server and helped in many other church organizations. She enjoyed quilting, sewing making blankets and dolls, gardening, and singing Christian church and oldie songs. She was a loving and faithful woman who was passionate about life and her family. The family would like to say "Thank You" to all of her dearest loved ones and caregiver; Flor Hinojosa who were there by her side during her final moments spent on Earth. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive friends today, Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
