Faustino "Tino" Martinez, Sr., 89, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Retama Manor Nursing Center in Edinburg. He was born on Monday, July 29, 1929 in Bryan, Texas to Socorro Martinez and Concepcion Garcia Martinez. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Viola Carmen Garza Martinez, daughters; Maria Concepcion "Concha" Elizondo and Margarita (Rogelio) Rodriguez, brothers; Jose Antonio Martinez and Pedro G. (Consuelo R.) Martinez.
Tino is survived by his sons; Faustino (Diana Tovias) Martinez, Jr., Jose Alejandro (Maria G.) Martinez, Reynaldo (Sylvia Ann) Martinez, Lisandro (Olga) Martinez, and Deanna (Mario) Rodiguez, brother; Carmelo Garcia, 22 - grandchildren, 26 - great grandchildren, 3 - great great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and those who lives he touched.
Tino worked for over 35 years until his retirement at Donna Fruit Company in Edinburg. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, reading the Monitor and El Manana News Paper. His geatest joy was being with his children and grandchildren.
His family will receive friends on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Jose Alejandro Martinez, Jr., Joshua David Rodriguez, Jonthan Jarvis Rodriguez, Jonas Robert Rodriguez, Michael Martinez, Isaias Martinez, and Noe Elizondo, Jr. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz-Funeral Home in Edinburg.
