Evangelina 'Nena' C Garza

Evangelina “Nena” C. Garza, 82, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 10, 2021 at her residence in Edinburg. She was born on a Friday, January 27, 1939 at Santa Rita Ranch in La Reforma, Texas to Cayetano Casas and Gregoria Lopez Casas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Carlos Nicolas Garza, Sr., sons; Jose Dolores Garza and Carlos Nicholas Garza, Jr., brothers; Abundio (Lydia) Casas, Noe (Anita) Casas and Porfirio Casas, sisters; Guadalupe (Leonel, Sr.) Sandoval, Lucia (Israel) Rodriguez, Sister Cecilia Casas, RSM and Linda (Johnny G.) Economedes.
She is survived by her daughters; Marina Garza, Maricela (Librado) Lozano and Candelaria Garza, sister-in-law; Maria Elena Casas, daughters-in-law; Linda Garza and Adelita Garza, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends.
Eva worked for E.C.I.S.D. for 31 years as a para professional and certified nurse’s aide until her retirement. Eva was a woman of strong faith who loved to read, bake, garden, travel and tell a good joke. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
Evangelina’s family will receive friends, Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Kevin Joseph Garza, Isaak Garza, Stephan Armand Nieto, Gustavo Casas, Reynaldo Martinez and Joe A. Sandoval.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Sebastian Bose Nieto, Jorge Jimenez, Alejandro Martinez and Noe Casas, Jr.
The family would like to thank the staff of South Texas Health System in Edinburg, Dr. Ivan Melendez, Dr.Crowley, Contigo Hospice and Fr. Manoj Kumar Nayak and Fr. Jeremy Sabugo, Pastor and Associate Pastors at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
