Domingo Rodriguez

Domingo “Mingo” R. Rodriguez, Jr. 92 entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his home in Edinburg. He was born to Domingo Rodriguez, Sr. and Gertrudes R. Rodriguez on Saturday, December 22, 1928 in Edinburg, TX. Domingo is preceded in death by his parents, son in law, Javier Cantu and six siblings.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 67 years, Maria G. Rodriguez, seven children: Domingo (Rosa) Rodriguez III, Julie (Gilbert) Gracia, Pete Rodriguez, Norma Linda (Jaime C) Rodriguez, Tacho (Marina) Rodriguez, Maria (†Javier) Cantu, and Melissa Rodriguez. He also leaves behind twenty grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Domingo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a huge fan of western movies, especially John Wayne.  He loved lotto tickets and always made large meals so he could have his family around.  He will be greatly missed and shall forever live in our hearts.

Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Emilio Alonso for their generosity and hospitality in Houston during our cancer treatments.  You always welcomed us into your home and you never asked for anything in return.  We cannot thank you enough.

His family will receive friends today, Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
