Diana R. Anzaldua

Diana R. Anzaldua, 66, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Edinburg. She was born on Wednesday, February 28, 1951 in Edinburg, Texas to Indalecio "Lecho" Rivera, Jr. and Maria Santos Fernandez Rivera. She is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter; Skye Devi Raiden Hooker.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 37 years; Alejandro Anzaldua, son; Mark A. Anzaldua, daughters; Alexsis M. Anzaldua and Krystal D. (Joseph D. Hooker) Anzaldua, brothers; Raul (Dahlia) Rivera, David (Christina) Rivera, Indalecio "Andy" Rivera, III, sisters; Celia (Bernardo) Salazar and Sonia (Hector) Casas, great grandnieces; Caitlin and Chloe Tucci, great grandnephew; Leonidas Indalecio Rivera, numerous nieces and nephews.
Diana graduated from Edinburg High School in 1970 and earned her masters degree in education. She worked with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District for 45 years as a teacher and counselor where she touched the lives of many children and co workers. She recently retired in January after working as a counselor at Travis Elementary. She enjoyed doing crosswords puzzles, playing penny slots machines and watching the Dallas Cowboys. She also loved singing, dancing, shopping, and collecting antiques. She was a woman of strong Christian faith who instilled good morals and values to her children. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, coworkers and all whose lives she touched.
The Anzaldua and Rivera family will receive friends today, February 27, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on her 67th Birthday, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Raul Rivera, David Rivera, Andy Rivera, III, Dave C. Rivera, Rick E. Rivera, and Daniel E. Rivera. Honorary pallbearers will be: Monica Tucci,, Cynthia D. Rivera, Ariel K. Rivera, Mariah C. Rivera, Anna Rivera and Hector Casas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
