Catalina Palacios

Catalina "Cata" S. Palacios, 88, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at her residence in Edinburg. She was born on Thursday, February 13, 1930 in Edinburg, Texas to Antonio Sanchez and Isacc Reyna. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Jesus Palacios, Sr., sons; Ray Palacios and Alfredo Palacios, brothers; Vicente Sanchez, Pablo Sanchez, Octavio Sanchez, and Antonio Rios, and sister; Severa Ortega.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons; Jesus Palacios, Jr., and Antonio (Gloria) Palacios, daughters; Ofelia Ibarra, Elida Palacios, Graciela (Manuel) Magallon, Yolanda (Falah) Alsaad, Norma (Samuel) Garcia, Leticia Palacios, and Belinda (Pedro) Miranda, brother, Alberto Rios, sister; Juanita Moreno, 45 - grandchildren, 74 - great grandchildren, 14 - great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Cata lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of the Cursillistas at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, quilting, doing puzzles, reading her bible, praying the Rosary, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
The Palacios family will receive family and friends today, Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed by Fred Palacios and Family at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Antonio Palacios, Antonio David Villarreal, Ismael Jesus Villarreal, Jose Antonio Villarreal, Naif Alsaad, Marco Antonio Miranda, Esteban Jesus Villarreal, and Mike Joseph Martinez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
