Carmen Amador

Carmen D. Amador, 89, entered eternal rest on Monday, July 9, 2018 at her granddaughter's residence in Edinburg. She was born on Friday, November 2, 1928 in Edinburg, Texas to Apolinar Delgado and Isabel Mares Delgado. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Jose Amador, son; Jose Joel Amador, grandson; J.J. Tijerina, son-in-law; Felipe Tijerina, brothers; Amado (Estela) Delgado and Arturo Delgado, sister; Amelia (Timoteo) Duarte, sister-in-law; Roalinda Delgado and brother-in-law; Nicolas Monrroy.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Velma Tijerina, Imelda (Juan) Hernandez, and Hilda (Erasmo) Casas, brother; Apolinar Delgado, Jr., sister; Abeldia Monrroy, sister-in-law; Carmen Delgado, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Also, always cherished are her two "Forever Friends" Mabel Wells Garcia and Carolina Chavez Serna.
Carmen graduated from Edinburg High School in 1947. She lived in Edinburg all of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked for over 63 years for Gateway Printing in Edinburg until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed reading, traveling on vacation, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Her family will receive friends today, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Omar Tijerina, Juan Carlos Hernandez, David Casas, Isaac Molina, Marissa Harris, and Pamela Ledesma. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilberto Duarte, Arturo Delgado, Jr. and Alfredo Garcia, Jr. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
