Zaragoza Briseno, 97 entered eternal rest on Monday, November 3, 2022 at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas. He was born on a Tuesday, November 3, 1925 to Cornelio Briseno and Maria Simona Marquez Briseno. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Pedro Briseno, Sr. and Francisco Briseno, sisters; Antonio Rodriguez, Felipa Briseno, Maria Inez Vega and Enedina Briseno.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 56 years; Apolonia Nino Briseno, children; Sarah Ann Briseno, Susan Marie (Alejandro) Rodriguez, Simona Martha (Pablo) Alonzo, Zaragoza Briseno, Jr., John Cornelius Briseno and Sandra Jane (Rumaldo) Briseno-Rosas, sisters; Ernestina Aguilar, Teofila Hinojosa and Estefana Briseno, 9 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Zaragoza was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna, Texas and was known as a fierce prayer warrior who was willing to pray for everyone especially those who were in need of prayer. He was a Farmer and Rancher by trade and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
The Zaragoza family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Funeral Home mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 306 South Salinas Blvd, Donna, Texas. Catholic Burial will follow at Highland Park Memorial Cemetery, 6705 North FM 88, Weslaco, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
