Sylvia Sanchez

Sylvia R. Sanchez, 65, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas. Sylvia was born on a Friday, November 15, 1957 in Edinburg, Texas to Erasmo Ruiz and Delia Lopez Ruiz. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother; Ricardo “Ricky” Ruiz.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years; Jesus Angel Sanchez, children; Jessica Marie Sanchez and Javier Erasmo Sanchez, grandchildren; Ashlee Pena, Aimee Pena, Jesus Antonio Cantu and Catalina Sophia Sanchez, brothers; Erasmo “Eddie” Ruiz, Jr. and Reynaldo Ruiz as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sylvia lived in Edinburg all her life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She worked with Mobile Relays (Rio Radio Supply) for over 33 years in McAllen. She enjoyed casinos, was a Dallas Cowboys fan and loved baseball with Houston Astros being her favorite team. Sylvia enjoyed having gatherings with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and those whose lives she touched.
The Sanchez family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 East Champion Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow at Val-
Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6200 Val Verde Road in Donna, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Javier Collazo, Ronnie Ureste, Michael Sanchez, Edward Ruiz, George Lopez, Ricardo Ruiz, Jr, Sergio Ocanas and Juan Jose Ocanas, Jr. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
