Sofia Reyes

Ms. Sofia Reyes, 98, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Windsor Arbor View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Edinburg. She was born on a Thursday, April 26, 1923 in San Luis, Guanajuato, Mexico to Genovevo Ruiz and Virginia Carranco Ruiz. She is preceeded in death by her parents, husband; Martin Reyes, son; Epifanio Reyes and brother; Angel Ruiz.
Sofia is survived by her daughters; Juanita Garza and Melba (Roberto R.) Barrera, daughter; Estella Reyes, brother; Nicolas Ruiz, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ms. Sofia lived in Edinburg and San Manuel most of her life. She was a devoted catholic and member of St. Anne Catholic Church in San Manuel. She enjoyed gardening, making quilts and spending time with her family. She was a very humble and strong lady who lived life to the fullest. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow at El Rucio Cemetery in San Manuel. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
