Mr. Ruben Garza, Sr., 69, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He was born on August 14, 1946 in Edinburg to Benino Garza and Juanita Rodriguez Garza. He is preceded in death by his parents, son; Rogelio Adolfo Garza and brother; Martin Garza.
He survived by his loving wife of 52 years; Ramona Arminda "Minda" Garza, sons; Ruben (Magda Leticia) Garza, Jr., Daniel (Vicky Lynn) Garza and Alfonso Garza, daughter-in-law; Veronica Garza, Brothers; Eloy Garza and Bernardino (Refugia) Garza, sisters; Maria Gaitan and Rosa (Enrique) Ybarra, sister-in-law; Vicky Garza, 13 - grandchildren, 8 - great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruben lived in Edinburg all his life and was a member of Torre Fuerte Pentecostal Church. He was a faithful servant of God and enjoyed teaching the word of God through bible studies. He was a truck driver for many years and also a school bus driver for the Edinburg Consolidated School District for 11 years. His favorite hobby was fishing with his family and friends.
His family received friends on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian services will be today, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg with Pastor Raul Sanchez officiating. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg is in charge of funeral services.
