Rosalia Soliz, 83, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at her residence in Edinburg, Texas. She was born on a Friday, January 6, 1939 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Panfilo Rodriguez and Trinidad Martinez Rodriguez. She is preceded into our celestial kingdom by her parents, husband of 54 years; Eustacio Soliz, brothers; Jose and David Rodriguez and sister; Josefina Nava.
She is survived by her children; Samuel (Alma) Soliz Sr., San Juanita "Janie" Soliz, Esmeralda "Molly" (Ruben) Rios, Juan M. (Sandra) Soliz and Ronnie (Lanay) Soliz, sister; Anita Rodriguez, 10 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosalia was always known as a hard worker beginning as a young child, she would help her father load their mule with firewood to take into town and sell. As a teenager, Rosalia and her family immigrated to McAllen, Texas and it was during this time that the family would divide their time between the Rio Grande Valley and Idaho to work in the hop fields. Just like any teenager would she loved frequenting Cine El Rey, admiring stars from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema such as Rodolfo De Anda, Pedro Infante and especially Luis Aguilar. In Idaho, she would meet the man who would become her husband and they later married in 1965. Together they raised their family with Rosalia being the core of the Soliz family instilling spiritual faith, strong moral value and hard work ethics in her children. She enjoyed her novelas, action movies and watching baseball but her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family. A special "Thank You" to Gracia Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our mother and a very "Special Thank You" to her granddaughter; Johanna Garza who went above and beyond her calling as a nurse and took care of her grandmother day in and day out. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
