Richard C. Hernandez, 56, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. He was born January 25, 1954 in Edinburg to Cesario Hernandez and Josefina Gaitan-Hernandez.
Mr. Hernandez is preceded in death by his father.
Left to cherish his memory his wife; Maria Aracelia Hernandez, mother, sons; Michael Cesario Hernandez, Richard “Richie” Cesario Hernandez, Jr., Dino Longoria, daughters; Leanna Rhea Hernandez, Monica Lee Nino, brothers; Robert Cesar (Yvette) Hernandez, Rene Cesario (Rosie) Hernadez, sisters; Rose Marie Gutierrez, Rebecca (Apolinar) Rodriguez, Rosalie (Brent) Mangum, grandsons; Isaih Maleek Hernandez, Nathaniel Nino, granddaughters; Jade Renee Diaz, Natalie Renee Nino and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mr. Hernandez graduated from Edinburg High School in 1973 and managed Jack in the Box in Las Milpas. He loved to dance, watch football, play pool and tennis. He loved to say jokes and bar-be-que. He was family oriented and enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
The Hernandez Family received friends on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian mass was held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial followed to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers were Brent Mangum, Apolinar Rodriguez, Robert Hernandez, Rene Hernandez, Dino Longoria, Richie Hernandez, Jr., Lupe Lozano and Jay Gonzalez. Funeral services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
