Rene G. Medina

Rene G. Medina, 72, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on a Tuesday, May 12, 1953 in Edinburg, Texas to Gilberto Medina & Altagracia Garcia Medina. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years; Elida Mary Mediina, children; Jay (Ana) Alonzo, Laura Lee (Juan) Sanchez, Melinda (Octavio) Medina Alarcon and Rolando Medina, two brothers; Gilbert (Nelda) Medina and Indolecio “Andy” (Angelica) Medina, 2 sisters; Elia (Richard. Sr.) Flores and Enedina Medina, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Rene enjoyed the outdoors working at the ranch any chance he could get. He especially loved being with his family, being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

The Medina family will receive friends on Sundy, August 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Services for Mr. Medina will conclude after the viewing. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director / Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home of Edinburg.
