Rebecca Rose Ponce

Rebecca “Becky” Rose Ponce, 78, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at McAllen Heart Hospital in McAllen, Texas. She was born on a Monday, October 28, 1946 in Edinburg, Texas to Jose Ramiro Ponce and Rebecca Olga De La Vina. She is preceded in death by her parents and her ex-husband; Eloy Davila.

She is survived by her loving children; Richard William Kellard, George Joseph (Michelle Ballin) Kellard, Ann Marie (Russell Dove) Kellard and David Eloy (Monica Ortiz) Davila, brother; Jose “Joe” Ramiro (Mary Alice) Ponce and sister; Noemi Sigler, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Becky had a strong work ethic and was often considered to be a workaholic which made her 50-year career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) an amazing accomplishment. She had an outgoing personality which allowed her to interact with so many people. On her free time, she enjoyed reading, watching old movies, like The Godfather, going to the beach and shopping for antiques. Her favorite times were the times she spent with her family, loving and supporting them. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.

The family invites their friends to join them at the Inurnment of their mother’s ashes as they celebrate her life at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral services are under the direction of Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
