Raquel Tamez

Raquel Tamez, 73, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Valley Baptist Health System in Harlingen, TX. She was born on a Sunday, August 3, 1952 to Moises Tamez and Tomasa Camarillo Tamez in Cadereyta, Jimenez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Raquel is survived by her loving husband of 18 years; Reymundo Rios, children: Walter Manuel (Maria Itzel Cantu) Rios and Cindy (Enrique) Garza- Tamez-Espinoza, step-children; Guadalupe “Lupita” (Gabriel Rios) Lopez and Reymundo (Erica) Rios, Jr., siblings; Benjamin (Dolores) Tamez, Cesar C. (Concepcion “Conchita”) Tamez and Nelly (Roberto) Zavala, 10 grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Raquel enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, cooking and baking. Always one to help she was very attentive to all those around her. Especially her family, who she loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

The Rios family has chosen to keep any services private and asks for respect and privacy during this difficult time. Funeral services were entrusted by Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director / Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg.
