Rafael “Chuco” C. Garza, Jr., 70, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Northeast Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born February 15, 1942 in Edinburg, Texas to Rafael Garza, Sr., and Sofia Cantu Garza. He was the eighth child of nine siblings.
Rafael is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Rodolfo Garza, Daniel Garza and Samuel Garza.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years; Irma R. Garza, son; Emmanuel “Manny” Garza, daughter; Monica (William) Kincaid, brothers; Raul, Ramiro, Moises and Rogelio Garza, sister; Rebecca Carcano, grandchildren; Joseph Danielle and Emily Kincaid, numerous nieces and nephews.
He worked at International Paper Company for over 30 years until his retirement in 2000. He was a lifelong member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Edinburg. He will be missed by all those who knew him and whose lives he touched.
The Garza Family will receive friends today, March 28, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, 705 E. University Drive, in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
