Petra P. Salinas, 100, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation in Edinburg, Texas. She was born on a Thursday, January 31, 1924 in Edinburg to Encarnacion Pardo, Sr. and Catalina Beltran Pardo. She is preceded by her parents, brothers; Encarnacion Pardo, Jr. and Leocadio Pardo, sisters; Maria Gonzales and Herminia “Mina” Santos and her loving husband; Lorenzo Salinas.
Petra is survived by her loving children; Larry (Angelita) Salinas, Norma Nelda Rodriguez, Ricardo Salinas and Nadia (John) Gracia, brother; Jose Refugio Pardo, sisters; Sister Mary Pardo and Florentina “Tina” Pardo, 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, numerous great, great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Petra was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg, Texas her whole life, trusting in her faith in all areas of her life. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. Her greatest joys and pleasures came from her family. Petra will be missed by all of those whose she touched.
The Salinas Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 East Champion Street in Ediinburg. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: David Torres, Rene Torres, John Gracia, Rafael Castillo, Efrain Contreras and Ismael Chavez, honorary pallbearer will be Nathan Cantu. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
