EDINBURG — Pedro Gonzalez, 84, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Edinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on April 29, 1929 in Nieves, Zacatecas, Mexico to Julio Vega and Concepcion Gonzalez. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juana Landeros Gonzalez; sons, Julio Cesar Gonzalez, David Gonzalez, Noe Gonzalez; daugher-in-law, Myrna Gonzalez; brother, Joaquin Gonzalez; and sisters, Gullermina Gonzalez and Amalia Ollervides.

He is survived by his son, Alfredo Gonzalez; daughters; San Juana (Gustavo) Gonzalez and Martha Maricela Gonzalez; daughter-in-law, Betty Gonzalez; brothers, Javier and Ismael Gonzalez; sisters, Maria, Ofelia and Luz Gonzalez; 12 – grandchildren; 20 – great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gonzalez was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and lived in Edinburg most of his life. He was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to farming. He was a family man who loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched.

The Gonzalez family will receive friends Monday, April 21, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
