Ofelia Solis

Ofelia F. Solis, 87, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. She was born February 26, 1924 in Mercedes, TX to Jose Maria Flores and Antonia Lopez.
Ofelia is preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband; Felipe Solis and daughter; Eufelia Solis.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Josefina (Oliverio, Sr.) Lopez, Eva (Rene) Salinas, Ninfa (Ramiro, Sr.) Santos, Berta (Guadalupe, Sr.) Cantu and Dora (Ricardo, Sr.) Ramos, sisters; Timotea Flores and Lydia (Santos) Andrade, 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Ofelia enjoyed embroidering and raising chickens. She loved planting roses and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and watching her grandkids play in the band, cheerleading and other sporting events. She will be missed by all of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
The Solis family will receive friends, today, October 18, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christiam Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
