Miguel "Mike" Manuel Trevino, 78, entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Edinburg. He was born on a Saturday, October 27, 1945 in Mission, Texas to Juan Angel Trevino and Clara Salinas Trevino. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother; Evan Trevino.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 40 years; Maria Guadalupe Guzman Trevino, children; Miguel "Michael" Angel (Linda) Trevino, Omar Gonzalez, Nancy Gonzalez and Melissa (Daniel, Jr.) Casanova, sisters; Diana Trevino and Yolanda Trevino, brother; John (Elvira) Trevino, 6 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched.
Mike proudly served his country in the Army in the 9th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He worked as a security guard for many years. He also enjoyed reading books and the bible. He also enjoyed just spending time at his home.
His family will receive friends Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial with Military honors under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #8788 of McAllen will follow at Rio Grande Valley Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 South Inspiration Road in Mission, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Michael Trevino, Omar Gonzalez, Daniel Casanova, Jr., Daniel Casanova, III, Ace Trevino and Diego Trevino. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
