Maria Alma "La Gata' Macias, 52, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in Edinburg. She was born on June 11, 1958 in Edinburg, Texas to Pedro Salazar and Julia Guzman.
She is preceded in death by her father; Pedro Salazar and brother; Jose Manuel Reyes.
Maria is survived by her mother; Julia (Antonio) reyes, sons; Tracy Krueger, Juan "Bibi" (Laura) Sanchez Jr., and Amado Roman Riojas Jr., Daughter; Julie Ann (Arnaldo) Martinez, brothers; Juan Pablo Rosales of Houston, TX, Robert Salazar of Edinburg, Texas, Antonio Reyes Jr., of Spring, Texas and Samuel Reyes of Edinburg, Texas, sisters; Sylvia R. Mims, Irma R. Gomez and Norma Salazar all of Edinburg, Texas and thirteen grandchildren.
Maria was a life long resident of Edinburg and member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a provider for over 20 years, more currently with Pace Home Health Agency in Weslaco. She enjoyed dancing, barbequing, cooking and cleaning. However, Maria's greatest joy came from her family. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian mass will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to hillcrst memorial park in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
