Maria Del Socorro Flores, 71, entered eternal rest on September 19, 2010 at Solara Hospital in Edinburg. She was born on September 7, 1939 in Weslaco, Texas to Candelario Almanza, Sr., and Consuelo Salazar.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Guadalupe Almanza, Rogelio Almanza, Ruben Almanza, and sister; Consuelo Rosario Martinez.
Maria is survived by her husband of 49 years; Eutiquio Flores, Sr., sons; Eutiquio Flores, Jr., Aaron Flores, daughter; Esmeralda Flores, brothers; Juan Almanza, Candelario Almanza, Jr., sister; Maria Gloria Castaneda, grandsons; Marco Antonio Flores, Kenneth E. Flores, Aaron Lee Flores and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maria taught Elementary for both Edcouch-Elsa and Edinburg I.S.D. She will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.
Visitation for Maria was held on Monday, September 20, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg with a rosary held at 7:00 p.m. Christian services were held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial followed to R.G.V. State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg
