Antonia “Toni” Rodriguez, 83, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She was born on June 17, 1926 in Karne City, Texas to Francisco Rodriguez and Herlinda Villegas. She live in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Toni is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Hector “Chichi” Rodriguez, daughters; Sylvia Rodriguez and Nora Gomez, grandsons; Willie Gomez and Christopher Rodriguez, five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her loving sons; Juan (Leticia) Rodriguez, Dagoberto (Estela) Rodriguez, Francisco (Alicia) Rodriguez, Jose Luis (Beatrice) Rodriguez; daughters; Herlinda (Patricio) Nieto, Blanca (Teodoro) Carbajal, Maria (Rene) Peralez, 27 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Toni worked at Mr. Donuts in Edinburg for almost 10 years. She was a loving and outgoing woman who loved to tell jokes and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
The Rodriguez family received friends on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 E. Kuhn St., Edinburg. Christian services will be held today, January 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Her grandchildren will have the distinguish honor to serve as pallbearers. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, Texas.
