Luis Lorenzi, 75, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation in Edinburg. He was born in Edinburg, Texas to Omelio Lorenzi and Manuela Lopez Lorenzi. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Antonio Lorenzi and Miguel Lorenzi, sisters; Mary Rudousky, Rose Bowen, Teresa Lozano and Elvira Smith.
Luis is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Maria Alicia Lorenzi, children; Luis (Maria G.) Lorenzi, Jr., Edward (Gracie) Lorenzi, Leticia (Jose Fidel) Hernandez, David (Maria M.) Lorenzi and Austin (Andrea M.) Lorenzi, brothers; Tomas Lorenzi and Manuel Lorenzi, sister; Margie Steuber, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Luis was a Vietnam War Veteran who received multiple medals including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. He was employed by Mobile Crane Service for over 30 years, knew how to fix tractors but enjoyed hunting and fishing. Was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan but most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
The Lorenzi Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Burial will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Road, Mission, Texas. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #8788. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Victor Coronado, Edward Lorenzi, Austin Lorenzi, Luis Lorenzi, David Lorenzi and Michael Ocanas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
