Obituary

Lucia Luna Garcia, 83, entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at her residence in Edinburg, Texas. She was born on a Friday, May 14, 1943 to Gustavo Luna and Antonia Rodriguez Luna in Encino, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Gilberto Garcia, Sr., brothers-in-laws; Anselmo Garcia and Santos Ramirez.

Left to cherish her memories are her children; Gilberto (Amy Garza) Garcia, Jr., Homer (Zaida) Garcia, Minnie (Felipe) Yfante, Mari Garcia and Blanca Garcia, siblings; Ricardo (Teresa) Luna, Zulema Garcia, Oscar (Sylvia) Luna, Mary Ramirez, and Romeo Luna, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucia enjoyed listening to her husband’s songs (Los Dos Gilbertos) and spending time with her beloved husband and children who she loved dearly. She also enjoyed going to the Maquinitas, eating pan dulce and just living life to the fullest. She worked for several years in marketing for Paseo de Angelitos Adult Day Care. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

The Garcia and Luna family will receive friends on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 10 :00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Gilberto Garcia, Jr., Homer Garcia, Roel Garcia, Hector Garcia, Felipe Yfante, and John Vega. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
