Lazaro Perez

August 8, 1945 — January 21, 2012

Lazaro “Larry” Perez, Jr., 66, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.  He was born August 8, 1945 in Raymondville, Texas to Lazaro Perez, Sr., and Eduvijes Zuniga Perez.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Simon Z. Perez and sister; Elena Perez.

Larry is survived by his brother; Juan (Juanita M.) Perez, sister; Alicia (Juan) De Leon, special close friend; Rachel Estrada, numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry lived in Edinburg all of his life and was an Edinburg High School graduate Class of 1968. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1973 – 1975.  He worked for the Edinburg Consolidated School District for over 10 years and was presently working at Austin Elementary. He loved to watch and was a fan of Edinburg Bobcats, OU College Football, and Houston Texans. He loved to make people laugh and lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.

His family will receive friends today, January 24, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Celebration of his life at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 201 E. Samano St. in Edinburg. Christian burial with Military honors will follow to Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
