Juana Gonzalez

June 24, 1933 — September 9, 2011

Juana “Juanita” L. Gonzalez, 78, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born June 24, 1933 in Nieves, Zaccatecas, Mexico to Ventura Landeros and Rosa Mendez Landeros.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, sons; Julio Cesar Gonzalez, David Gonzalez, Noe Gonzalez, 4 sisters, and daughter-in-law; Myrna E. Gonzalez.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years; Pedro Gonzalez, son; Alfredo “Fred” Gonzalez, daughters; San Juana (Gustavo) Gonzalez, Martha Maricela Gonzalez, brother; Pascual (Jovita) Landeros, Jose Hermijildo (Maria del Refugio) Landeros, daughter-in-law; Beatrice Martinez Gonzalez, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Juanita was a hard working woman.  She loved making tamales, cooking and enjoyed preparing meals every Sunday for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

The Gonzalez Family will receive friends today, September 11, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary held at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.  Christian mass will be held Monday, September 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.  Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.  Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers; Alfredo Lorenzo Gonzalez, Benito Gonzalez, Julio Galvan, Daniel Gonzalez, Gerardo Landeros, and Ventura Landeros.  Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
