Jose Jesus Casas Jr.

Jose Jesus “Nune” Casas, Jr., 71, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Christus Health Canton ER in Canton, Texas. He was born on a Sunday, June 15, 1952 in Edinburg, Texas to Jose Jesus Casas, Sr. and Adelia Villarreal Casas. He is preceded in death by his parents and son in law; Juan Saenz.
Jose is survived by his loving children; Ray Ramon (Gina Pina) Casas, Mary Saenz, Jessica Casas, Nereyda (Juan) Rios, Jose Jesus (Danielle) Casas III, Stephanie Adelia (Carlos) Prado, Gustavo Casas, Nelly Casas and Ashlee Casas, 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jose or “Nune” as he was affectionately known as was a truck driver for 50 years. Spending 4 years working for Maxwell Logistics and most recently with Mena Transport. Jose loved football and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
The Casas family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1501 East Richardson Road, Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Ray Casas, Jr, Esteban Casas, Jesse Casas, III, Gustavo Casas, Joel Garza, Jr. and Carlos Gutierrez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
