Jane Esparza, 96, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at her residence in Edinburg, Texas. Jane was born on a Sunday, May 27, 1929 in Lyons, Kansas to Julian Mosqueda and Maria Ramos Mosqueda. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Raul J. Esparza, sons; Raul Esparza, Jr. and Michael Jerome Esparza, son in law; Willie Espinoza, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Jane is survived by her loving children; Dora (Fred) Salazar, Becky Espinoza, Stephen Esparza and Larry (Yliana) Esparza, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jane was a woman of immense faith, she not only passed down that legacy to her family but she reflected it in life. She was a devout, longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg, as well as being a member of the Catholic Daughters of the America, Court our Lady of Mt. Carmel #1993. She worked for the Hidalgo County Head Start Program for 27 years, retiring as their Director. She enjoyed sewing, but loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
The Esparza family will receive friends Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3611 North Taylor Road in McAllen. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Christopher Esparza, Anthony Esparza, Jason Salazar, Mando Esparza, Lauren Esparza, Judge Keno Vasquez, Eric Salazar and Ethan Karasek. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager / Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
