Hector Ponce, Jr., “Frossty” 26, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 18, 2026 in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on a Thursday, June 17, 1999 in Edinburg, Texas to Irma Esmeralda Almedia-Ponce and Hector Ponce.

Hector is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Stephanie Matelin Gutierrez-Ponce, parents; Hector Ponce and Irma Esmeralda Almedia-Ponce, siblings; Katelyn Ponce, Angel Ponce and Rose Ponce.

Hector was a 2017 graduate of Edinburg North High School in Edinburg and was employed at Coca-Cola as a truck driver. Hector enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing, golfing, baseball and enjoyed playing with the play station. However Hector’s biggest passion was his love for cars and racing. Gathering with friends and family, having bbq’s and spending quality time with his family was his greatest pleasure. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

The Ponce family will receive friends on Monday, April 27, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: William Avery Almedia, Juan Angel Almeida, Jr., Juan “Johnny” Islas, Jr., Abelardo “Lalo” Gutierrez, III, Jonathon Andrew Almeida, Nathaniel Noel Trevino, Brian Tony Sanchez, Joseph Aaron Almeida, Keith Deluna Andrew and Israel Sanchez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia Manager/Funeral Director and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, Texas.
