Gabriela Faith Castañeda, a miracle to her parents and family, was born on October 19, 2009. Gabriela gained her angel wings on January 15, 2012. In the short time she was here, Gabriela was an angel on Earth, touched many lives, and taught everyone to appreciate life.
Gabriela’s family includes her devoted parents; Jeremiah and Elizabeth Castañeda, her grandparents; Bruce and Elda Christian and Cipriano and Esther Castañeda, her great grandparents; Emma Ramos and Francis Castañeda, her aunts and uncles; Teresa Christian, Jessica and Christopher Beattie, Melissa and Michael Badillo, and Erica and Everardo Gomez, and her cousins; Zachary and Matthew Beattie, Mekol, Malerie and Kobe Badillo, Kimberly Carrales, and Justin and Noah Gomez.
Gabriela’s family is grateful for the care she received from PSA Home Health Agency, Elite Critical Care EMS, South Texas Monitoring Systems, Conquest Pharmacy, Texas Children’s Hospital NICU, Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance PICU, and her team of doctors, Dr. Nelson Spinetti, Dr. Humberto Hidalgo, Dr. Marcos Valdez, and Dr. Allan Mercado.
The Castaneda family will receive friends today, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian Mass will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. In lieu of flowers, Gabriela’s family is requesting that donations be made to Clayton Murphy Peroxisomal Disorders Research Fund at Baylor College of Medicine, P.O. Box 47774, San Antonio, Texas 78265, attention: ZellFest, ZellFest.com.
