Evangelina “Vita” or “Vangie” De Los Santos, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Colonial Manor Advanced Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Pharr, Texas. She was born on a Saturday, May 15, 1948 in Edinburg, Texas to Narciso De Los Santos and Evangelina Saenz De Los Santos. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings; Arcadio Eloy De Los Santos, Eladia Gaitan and Ramiro Gaitan and brother in law; Juan Manuel Casas.
She is survived by her siblings; Dr. Miguel (Ofelia) De Los Santos, Esbelda Ramirez and Emma Casas, nieces and nephews; Patricia Lopez, Marissa Vasquez, Araceli De Los Santos, Juan Manuel “JM” Casas, Jr., Monica Gaitan-Gonzalez, Miguel A. De Los Santos, Arcadio Eloy Casas and Valeria M. Casas-Melendez as well as many extended family.
Vita or Vangie as she was affectionately known loved to travel, especially through and to Louisiana, Oklahoma, Nevada and New Mexico. She loved gambling for fun with friends and family. Was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys but also of her hometown an Alma Mater, Edinburg High School Bobcats. She enjoyed being around family, spending the holidays and all family gatherings with them. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.
The De Los Santos family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. The memorial mass will be held on Monday, November 17, 2026 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 East Champion Street in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director / Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
