Estella D. Solis

Estella "Estellita" D. Solis, 77, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. She was born on Tuesday, May 9, 1939 in Hargill, Texas to Gregoria Davila, Jr. and Estela Castaneda Davila. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Estellita is survived by her husband of 58 years; Deacon Jose "Joe" Angel Solis, sons; Jose A. (Iris Ann) Solis, Jr., Javier Rene Solis and David Solis, daughters; Velma Nora Solis-Garcia and Maria Dalinda Solis, brothers; Arturo (Viola) Davila, Robert (Esther) Davila, Gilbert (Frances) Davila, Erasmo (Sylvia) Davila and Edelmiro (Mary) Davila, sister; Viola (Genaro) Zuniga, grandchildren; Emmeline Grace Garcia, Adrianna Michelle Solis and Adrian Emilio Solis-Villarreal, great granddaughter; Jasmine Grace Garza, numerous nieces and nephews.
Estellita worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for 33 years and helped her husband; Deacon Jose A. Solis with his ministry at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg for many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She was a simple, humble and faithful servant who had a heart of gold. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive friends today, Friday, December 30, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg with Fr. Cris, Fr. Kumar, Fr. Richard and Fr. Gerry officiating. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Roger Davila, Gilbert Davila, Jr., Orlando Davila, Steven Gregory Davila, Genaro Zuniga, Jr. and Aaron Rodriguez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
