Emma Diaz

Emma Diaz, 87, entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Comfort House in McAllen, Texas. She was born on Thursday, October 31, 1935 in Edinburg to Benito Estimbo, Sr. and Selerina Salinas Estimbo. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years; Santos Diaz, daughter; Nelda Estimbo Diaz, brothers; Nicolas Estimbo, Carlos Estimbo, Benito Estimbo, Jr. and Daniel Estimbo, sisters; Belen Cantu and Elizabeth Uresti.
Emma is survived by her daughter; Ivette Diaz and son; Samuel Diaz, grandchildren; Ernesto Trevino, Jr, Lisa Yvette Salinas, Leonardo Isac Trevino, Ray Richard Trevino and Samuel Mateo Diaz, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sisters; Delia Mejia and Velma Silva as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Emma was a devoted Christian and member of Templo Bethel – Cladic Church in Edinburg. She enjoyed singing hymns at church. She was an elementary teacher who began her career with Elsa ISD. She had a love for teaching and continued educating young minds for the next 29 years, teaching at Lincoln, Stephen F. Austin and Travis Elementary schools with Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District. Emma enjoyed spending time around those she loved, especially her family. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
The Diaz Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn, Edinburg, Texas. Christian Services will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Templo Bethel – Cladic Church, 215 North 21st Avenue in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pall bearers will be: Ernesto Trevino, Jr, Leonardo Isac Trevino, Ray Richard Trevino, Gumercindo Salinas, III, Ernesto Trevino, III and Victor Garcia. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
