Consuelo Rios

Consuelo Rios, 87, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at her residence in Edinburg, Texas. She was born on a Tuesday, October 1, 1935 in Los Ebanos, Texas to Genaro Benavidez and Hortencia Flores Benavidez. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Evaristo Rios, son; Guillermo Espinoza, III, sister; Cecilia Flores and brother in law; Roberto Flores.
She is survived by her children; Gustavo (Vivian) Espinoza, Graciela (Cesar) Marroquin, Gloria Espinoza, Enrique Rios, Aurelia (Jorge) Guerrero, sisters; Celsa (Rodolfo) Luna, Crisanta (Ted) Orozco, Christina (Dewey) Printy, Cita (Adan) Mares, Sylvia (Bernard) Malota and Celia Flores, brother; Genaro (Hilda) Benavidez, Jr, 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Consuelo had a love of life, enjoyed playing Bingo, watching novelas and dancing. Doing her hair and eating at restaurants were pastimes she truly loved doing. She especially loved her family and will miss being a part of the “Golden Girls” as she and her sisters were known. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
The Rios family will receive friends on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 East Champion, Edinburg, Texas with a burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road, Edinburg, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Cesar Marroquin, Jr., LeeRoy Garza, Jr.,Joel David Guerrero, Jacob Evaristo Guerrero, Joshua Guerrero and Cesar Zamora, III. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
