Consuelo Balderas

Consuelo "Chelo" Balderas, 75, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at her residence in Faysville. She was born on a Saturday, September 13, 1947 in Edinburg, Texas to Felix Reyes and Gregoria Molina Reyes. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Israel Reyes and Ruben Reyes and sisters; Emma Sunderland and Hilda Ramirez.
Chelo is survived by her husband of 32 years; Ricardo Balderas, son; Jorge Ricardo Balderas, grandchildren; Sophia Lee Balderas, Antonio R. Balderas and Alonzo K. Balderas, numerous nieces and nephews.
Chelo lived in Faysville all of her life and was a member of El Buen Pastor Methodist Church in Edinburg.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, but most importantly spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and those whose lives she touched.
The Balderas family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Prayer service at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM at El Buen Pastor Methodist Church, 705 East University Drive, Edinburg, Texas with Rev. Carlos Zamora officiating. Christian burial will follow at The Balderas Family Cemetery, 22207 FM 490 (1 mile West FM 490) in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pall bearers will be: Jorge R. Balderas, Ruben Reyes, Jr., Randall Sunderland, Hector Reyes, Cesar Cantu Molina and Aurelio Rivera. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral DIrector of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
