Concepcion Cantu

Concepcion “Connie” Cantu, 85, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her residence in
Edinburg, Texas. Connie was born on a Monday, October 11, 1937 in La Villa, Texas to Jesus Gonzalez and Dominga Marquez Gonzalez. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Pedro Cantu, son; Jose Angel Cantu, brothers; Eraglio Gonzalez, Jaime Gonzalez and Gonzalo Gonzalez and sister; Amalia Gonzalez.
She is survived by her children; Anna Maria (Rudy) Hernandez, Juan Alberto (Nidia) Cantu, Gloria (Danny) Sanchez, Josef Cantu, Robert Rodriguez and Israel Villarreal, sister; Edubigen “Vicky” Gonzalez, 18 Grandchildren, 42 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren.
Connie was a member of Iglesia Bautista Getsemani. She loved to dance, fish and travel. She also enjoyed crotcheting, knitting and sewing. She also enjoyed cooking, often making homemade tortillas. She was the owner and operator of Star Burger in Edinburg and El Paso for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
The Cantu family will receive friends on Sunday, March 12, 2023 for a Memorial Service from 3:30 PM – 8:00 PM with a prayer service to be held at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.It would mean so much if you could donate or share with others - any help gets us closer to our goal.
