Celia Maldonado

Celia Maldonado, 93, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. She was born on March 3, 1918 in Montemorelos, N.L., Mexico to Nestor Maldonado and Catarina Zuniga.
Mrs. Maldonado is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Enrique Pecina, daughter; Elisa Pecina de Moreno, sisters; Mercedes Maldonado-Zuniga, Celestina Maldonado- Zuniga and a daughter-in-law; Gloria Pecina.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons; Francisco Pecina-Maldonado, Artemio (Guadalupe Hermelinda) Pezino, 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all her family friends and all those whose lives she touched.
The Maldonado Family received friends on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeal Home in Edinburg. Christian mass was held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial followed to La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen, Texas. Funeral services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
