Carmen Rodriguez, 102, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. She was born on December 21, 1912 to Adolfo Luna and Epifania Zarate Luna in La Grulla, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Macario S. Rodriguez, Sr.; sons, Macario Rodriguez, Jr. and Ruben Rodriguez; Granddaughter, Jennifer Lea Champion; son-in-law, Margarito Hernandez; 2 – brothers and 2 –Sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Homero (Irma) Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez; daughters, Irma (Raul) Cardenas, Imelda (Raul) Villarreal, Elma Hernandez, Yolanda (Frank, Jr.) Champion; Daughter-in-law, Rita Rodriguez, 24 – Grandchildren, 49 – Great - Grandchildren, 3 – Great – Great - Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carmen was a life-long resident of Faysville, TX and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, and spending time with her family. She will be truly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched. Although she is gone from this earth, her legacy will continue through the memories she leaves behind and the way she touched her families’ hearts.
Family will receive friends today, Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 pm in the Family Chapel at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Edinburg. Catholic Burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Her grandchildren will be having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
