Bernardo “Ben” Rocha, Jr., 70, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. He was born in Edinburg, Texas on December 29, 1944 to Bernardo Rocha, Sr. and Juanita Villarreal Rocha. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Amelia (Pedro (+)) Ontiveros and Maria Gloria Chavana; and sisters-in-law, Evangelina Rocha and Maria Rocha.

He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Silva Rocha; sons, Bernardo “Ben” (Yvonne) Rocha, III, Omar (Hillary Garcia) Rocha and Richard (Araceli Tapia) Rocha; brothers, Nieves Rocha, David (Lupita) Rocha, Antonio (Gloria) Rocha, Enrique (Elvira) Rocha, Roman Rocha; sisters, Anita (Gonzalo) Castillo, Olivia Rocha and Yolanda (Rey) Longoria; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ben lived in Edinburg all his life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He worked for the Edinburg Housing Authority for 13 years, BIC Realty and Gaston Property for 25 years as a contractor and Texas Oncology for the last 25 years. He was a Dallas Cowboy fan, enjoyed fishing and loved to spend time with his family. He will truly be missed by his family, friends, coworkers and all those whose lives he touched. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Dr. Billie Marek and Staff, At Home Health Care and staff, Summit and Fire Ambulance Services for the care they provided for Ben.

The Family received friends on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held today, April 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 East Champion Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Benny Rocha, IV, Jacob Rocha, Josh Rocha, Mario Rodriguez, Mark Rodriguez and Rollie Rocha. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
