Belia M. Lopez, 76, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. She was born in Weslaco, Texas on a Saturday, April 1, 1944 to Candelario Munoz, Sr. and Teresa Cavazos Munoz. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 52 years; Rodolfo “Fito” Lopez.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Rudy (Janie) Lopez, Jr. and Melissa Lopez Gonzalez, brothers; Candelario (Minerva) Munoz, Jr. and Benito (Blanca) Munoz, sisters; Margarita Munoz, Amelia Teresa (Ricardo) Hinojosa and Elvita (Israel, Sr.) Rodriguez. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Ryan Lopez, Jamy Lopez, Victoria Buentello, Dustin Lopez and Kristianna Gonzalez, great-grandchild; Emilee Rose Alvarado and numerous nieces and nephews.
Belia and her family were the owners and operators of R. Lopez Grocery Store "La Tienda Amarilla" in Edinburg on the corner of Sprague and 18th Street for many years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, playing bingo and spending time with her family.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
Graveside Service will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veteran Cemetery, 2520 South Inspiration Road in Mission, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Rudy Lopez, Jr., Ryan Lopez, Marcus Alvarado, Richard Villarreal, Ricardo Gonzalez, Jr, and Eric Hinojosa. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
