Beatriz “Bea” Ortega, 81, entered eternal rest on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She was born July 23, 1933 in Los Ebanos, Texas to Alberto Flores and Aurelia De Los Santos Flores. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Pedro, Ramon and Fidel Flores; sisters, Maria Flores and Gumecinda Reyes, and son-in-law, Ramiro Ramirez.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Antonio Ortega; children, Ruben (Cristina) Ortega, Olga Ramirez, and Adan (Lupita) Ortega, 8- Grandchildren and 4- Great-Grandchildren.
Bea, as she was affectionately known, lived most of her life in Edinburg and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a hard-working woman who loved cooking and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her love for her grandchildren and for the family values that she instilled. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
The family received friends Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held today, Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian Burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
