Baltazar “Balde” Salinas, Jr., 59, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. He was born on Monday, October 3, 1955 in Clarksville, Texas to Baltazar Salinas, Sr. and Ofelia Munoz Salinas. He is preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Sylvia G. Salinas; son, Marco Xavier Salinas; daughters; Selene (John) Mora, Sahra (Jason) Reep, Lorina (Christopher) Vasquez; brothers, Margarito M. (Rosalinda) Salinas, Armando M. Salinas, Alberto (Rosa) Salinas; sisters, Sandra (Rafael) De Los Santos, Susanna Salinas; 12 – Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Balde, as he was affectionately known, worked in produce all of his life. He worked at Heald Valley produce, J&D Produce, Don Hugo Produce, Ruiz Produce, and at Edinburg Citrus Association. He was a hard worker, jack of all trades and a real handyman. He was a big Dallas Cowboys fan and will always be remembered for his kind heartedness, his love for his family, and how he was a best friend to many. He will truly be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

His family will receive friends today, Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Gilbert Salinas, Christopher Vasquez, John Mora, Joel De Los Santos, Albert Delgado and Alberto Salinas, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Aaron Salinas and Marco Xavier Salinas, Jr . Funeral Services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
