Antonio Saenz

Antonio “Tony” Rios Saenz, 76, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Windsor Arbor View – SNF in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on a Wednesday, August 3, 1949 in San Pedro de Roma, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Crisanto Saenz and Gabriela Rios Saenz. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Leonor Rodriguez Saenz, daughters; Juanita Gabriela “Gaby” (Rey) Balderaz and Teresa Saenz, granddaughter; Maya Gabriela Balderaz and grandson; Diego Reyes Antonio Balderaz.

Tony was a very loving and social person. His work ethic was strong, working for companies such as International Paper Company, Border to Border and Mo-Vac as a Truck Driver for over 50 years. He enjoyed fishing and bar-b-quing, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren and family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, co-workers and all those whose lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Tony by spending time outdoors with the people you love. Cast a line, watch a sunrise over the water, or simply enjoying the peace and beauty of nature - just as he always did at South Padre Island. If you think of him while you’re there, that’s the greatest tribute of all.

The Saenz family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager / Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
