Anna Maria Champion, 71, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at DHR - Health in Edinburg. She was born on a Friday, November 19, 1954 in Edinburg, Texas to Frank Clarence Champion, Sr. and Angelita Hinojosa Champion. She is preceded in death by her parents and niece; Jennifer Champion.

Left to cherish her memories are her siblings; Frank C. (Yolanda) Champion, Jr., Eddie Champion and David Champion, nieces; Patricia Champion and Victoria (Matthew) Cochran, nephew; Frank C. Champion, III, and extended family members.

Anna graduated from Edinburg High School in 1973 where she excelled in cheerleading and academics. She graduated from Pan American and became an educator where she taught for over 30 years with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District at De La Vina Elementary. She enjoyed going to the family ranch at Santa Monica Ranch in Puerto Rico, Texas, shopping online, eating bar-b-que and volunteering at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. She will be great missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

The Champion Family will receive friends on Monday, May 18, 2026 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 122 West Fay Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
