Anita Solis, 84, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at McAllen Heart Hospital in McAllen, Texas. She was born on a Saturday, July 26, 1941 to Celestino Rodriguez and Antonia Briseno-Rodriguez in La Blanca, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister; Elena Rodriguez and brother; Guadalupe Rodriguez.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years; Santiago Solis, children; Simon Garza, Diana (Luciano) Hernandez, Rogelio Garza, Santiago Roel (Sylvia) Solis, Pedro Luis (Lucy) Solis, Laura Diana (Mark) White and Cynthia Adriana (Richard) Sanchez, 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Anita was loving woman by nature. She was a woman of strong faith, praying daily. She enjoyed giving of her time, volunteering with “Los Ninos del Mundo,” Food Bank, Candy Striper and with girl scouts as well. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, attending to her plants especially her roses. Anita will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
The Solis Family will receive friends on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Steet, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral Mass to be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Saint Joseph the Worker, 8310 Highland Avenue, San Carlos, Texas. Burial to follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens, 6200 Val Verde Road, Donna, Texas. Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Santiago Roel Solis, Pedro Luis Solis, Mark White, Richard Sanchez, Pedro Luis Solis, II., Matthew Roel Solis and Rogelio Garza. Honorary pallbearers will be: Gabriela Solis, Ana Solis, Madison Solis and Cecilia White. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home of Edinburg.
