Angelita “Angie” Luevano, 83, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 7, 2026 at her residence in Edinburg, Texas. She was born on a Saturday, October 31, 1942 in Mexico City, Mexico to Alberto Zamora and Dolores Jurado Zamora. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Victor Luevano, Sr., brother; Carlos Zamora and brother in laws; John Nordlund and Howard Walsh.

She is survived by her loving children; Victor (Sarah) Luevano, Jr. and Desiree Monique (Pablo Garza) Rodriguez, grandchildren; Amber Luevano, Victoria (Eric DeVante) Hall and Marquis P. Rodriguez, great grandchildren; J.P. Losoya, Iva Losoya, Ariel Jerez, DeVante Eric Hall, Jr., and Selena Melody Hall, siblings; Carmen Nordlund, Sonia (Frank Salinas) Walsh, Joe (Alicia) Zamora as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Angie as she was affectionately known, worked with Edinburg CISD for over 24 years. She enjoyed baking, gardening, knitting and doing yard work but her favorite was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, co-workers and all those whose lives she touched.

The Luevano family will be receiving family and friends on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Victor Luevano, Jr., Pablo Garza, Marquis P. Rodriguez, Victoria Hall and DeVante Hall. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg.
